CSI Adopts a Spot in Waterbury

When Mark Manning, Program Director for Chase Center/Waterbury Community Court, was contacted by the City of Waterbury to take part in the city's Adopt-a-Spot program, Mark saw the opportunity as a perfect fit for Community Court. Community Court provides opportunities for low-level offenders to repay the community in which they committed the crime through meaningful community service. Wyman Street Park was close to Chase Center and in dire need of repair. Once accepted into the Adopt-a-Spot program, Community Court clients mowed waist-high weeds, landscaped, cleaned and swept and they continue to maintain the park, keeping it free from blight (before and after photos can be viewed below). The sign that acknowledges CSI as a participant in Waterbury's Adopt-a-Spot program lets area residents know that CSI continues to be a committed member of the community.
