CSI's Bridgeport AIC was recently awarded the 2010 Small Business Employer of the Year award from the Connecticut Board of Education and Services for the Blind (BESB). The award signifies CSI’s contributions to the employment of persons who are blind. Sally Guy, Program Director, accepted the award on behalf of CSI at an award luncheon in October.

Emilio Ortiz, Case Manager, has been with Bridgeport AIC since 2006 and is legally blind. CSI adapted to Emilio’s needs by supplying him with a special computer monitor and by allowing him a flexible schedule to accommodate his transportation needs. Emilio’s rehabilitation counselor at BESB, Wendy Andino, nominated CSI for the award.
