The Watkinson Prisoners Aid Society Awards Grant to Beautify Hartford House
CSI was recently awarded $2,000 from the Watkinson Prisoners' Aid Society to purchase new bedroom furniture for Hartford House located in Hartford, CT. CSI will match the award with funds from another foundation or proceeds from the annual charity golf tournament.
Hartford House is a reentry program for adult female clients referred from the Connecticut Department of Corrections (DOC) and the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP).
Hartford House is also home to the Mothers and Infants Nurturing Together (MINT) program for pregnant offenders who have been approved for community placement. While in the program they receive prenatal care at a cooperating hospital, give birth and bond with their babies for three months following birth.
These renovations will provide these women with new furniture to help create a more homelike environment while they transition back to their families and communities.
